This appliance was made by Rhechor-Ocra, the 'Bone Collector', also known as 'The Scupltor'. It can be used to turn one of the weapons of the Redeemed against themselves.

Rhechor-Ocra was leader of a roaming band that used to travel between the lands, striking down on Redeemed caravans or lone travellers. They were merciless killers, and Rhechor-Ocra was the most bloodthirsty among them. He used to collect the leg bones of his enemies, and he sculpted them into mocking figurines that he left wherever they travelled. He was convinced that nobody would dare following his track, and he was right: Nobody did.

Not until Libetiath, 'The Star of the Forest', rose into adulthood and felt her vocation. She then tracked down Rhechor-Ocra, that had to flee from his men. She trapped him at the fifthieth bridge of Scheol, where she chopped off his head and threw his body into the abyss.
