Description
This twisted and deformed crystal seems to be an example of early Xan attempts to refine Notum. It is enclosed in a sealed environmental container, presumably to preserve it for further study. It is inscribed with what may be a date.
Scans reveal that the crystal is unstable and the source molecules are not safely bound together within the crystal.
Jobe scientists currently postulate that the process of refining the source was something that took the Xan many decades, possibly even centuries. This crystal does not display the same notum characteristics as you might find in modern refined notum samples.
